When the first Dragonfly Hunters sessions fell through, Nevin and Ian decided to make the most of their fifteen hour drive to Chicago, and make a record anyway. Nevin brought in his ex Brit (Jitterbug and Rain) to sing and she turned up with songs of her own. The songs fit comfortably together and inspired a fresh bout of co-writing. They left the studio with a record of delicate folk and country songs. Live, they continued to expand, adding several auxiliary members to achieve a truly epic sound, finding their own ground somewhere between Gram and EmmyLou and Spiritualized.
